Dr. Nikhil Patil

Dr. Nikhil Patil is a trusted gastroenterologist in Manipal Hospitals, Millers Road, currently practising as a Consultant in Medical Gastroenterology. With a strong academic background and specialised training in gastrointestinal disorders, he brings a comprehensive and patient-focused approach to the diagnosis and management of digestive diseases.

Dr. Nikhil began his medical journey with an MBBS from Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences, followed by an MD in General Medicine from Jagadguru Jayadeva Murugarajendra Medical College (JJMMC), Davanagere. He further advanced his expertise by completing his DrNB in Medical Gastroenterology from Aster CMI Hospitals, Bangalore, where he received extensive training in managing a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver disorders.

He has gained valuable clinical experience through his tenure as a Senior Resident at District Hospital, Ballari, and is currently serving as a Registrar at the Institute of Gastroenterology and Organ Transplant, Victoria Hospital, Bangalore. His clinical exposure includes managing complex gastrointestinal conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disorders, gastrointestinal infections, and functional bowel disorders.

Dr. Nikhil has a keen interest in evidence-based medicine and academic research. He has contributed to scientific literature with publications including an original article on gastrointestinal tuberculosis in inflammatory bowel disease and ongoing research on intestinal ultrasound in Crohn’s disease. His dissertation focused on biofeedback therapy in dyssynergic defecation, reflecting his interest in functional gastrointestinal disorders.

He has actively participated in several national conferences and workshops, including ISGCON, INASL, and APICON, where he has also presented research papers and posters. These engagements have helped him stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in gastroenterology.
