Dr. Arghya Majumdar

Dr. Arghya Majumdar is a transplant physician and a good nephrologist in Kolkata, serving as a consultant at Manipal Hospitals, Dhakuria, Kolkata. He graduated with an MBBS from NRS Medical College and completed his postgraduate studies MD at IPGMER, a DNB from the National Board New Delhi, and an MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians (UK). He further specialised in (4 years) Nephrology at University Hospitals Birmingham, UK. 

Dr. Majumdar brings 24 years of experience in Nephrology and Critical Care. His illustrious career includes key leadership roles at prestigious healthcare institutions in India (AMRI, BM BIRLA, WOODLANDS, CMRI) and abroad. He has been instrumental in developing comprehensive services such as Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Critical Care Nephrology, Interventional Nephrology, Paediatric Nephrology, and Kidney Transplantation in Manipal Hospitals. He is a pioneer in introducing Critical Care Nephrology services such as CRRT & Plasmapheresis to Kolkata. He also specialises in chronic kidney disease SLE & vasculitis. 
He is actively associated with several professional organisations, such as the Indian Society of Nephrology, the International Society of Nephrology, and many others. Dr. Majumdar has a remarkable track record of presenting at numerous international (WCN, ASN) and national conferences and writing in medical journals and books. He has also guided DNB and PhD students, demonstrating his constant commitment to medical education and research. He also has numerous research and review publications to his credit. He is highly respected in the medical community, as he has served as President of the Indian Society of Nephrology, East Zone, for three years and currently holds the position of President of the Kolkata Nephrology Forum. He was also the organising Co-Chairman of the Indian Society of Nephrology Conference (2023)in Kolkata.
